Additional Information:

Youth Theatre, Drama Program

Acting classes develop confidence and encourage imaginative exploration and discovery. Classes cover theatre games, terminology, improvisation, monologue and scene work. Each class develops every aspect of acting, while students have a ton of fun. Each of the three yearly performances are structured to incorporate fundamental building blocks and allow the student to grow with each show. Drama is especially beneficial for an introverted child. It also aids in building positive self – esteem and open creativity in a safe atmosphere where students are encouraged to grow. It’s a fantastic program with little emphasis on becoming professional actors yet providing the skills for acting, public speaking and role playing while laying the ground work for students who wish to pursue drama in college and professionally (current Alumni attending Ball State University: BFA Acting.) For students also interested in musical theatre, we offer Drama Performance students an add on class that covers singing for actors that also incorporates movement.  The Musical Theatre Option focuses on ‘acting’ a song and is great audition prep as well as enables actors to be well rounded and sustain the total comprehensive dramatic training.   Performance opportunities are provided 1 time the first semester and 2 times the second semester. These classes are instructed by Debbie Endris and Grace Robertson (musical theatre option).

Classes teach students proper breathing, pitch, musicality and timing. Many of our students have performed principle roles in high school and community musical theatre productions as well as majored in vocal performance in colleges such as University of Louisville and Marian College. Voice lessons are great for choir students, theatre lovers and shower enthusiast. Basically, it’s great for everyone! Private lessons meet for 30 minutes once a week and are instructed by Dan Endris.
